Job Summary
This position will be responsible for establishing sourcing strategies, conducting sourcing activities and managing external spend to drive value creation and category management to support power generation operations.
Act as a thought leader and category management resource.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Act as a thought leader and category management resource
- Contribute to the development of project plans and key deliverables
- Create/Define/Analyze spend and risk scenarios and report findings
- Measure supplier performance within commodity/spend category segment
- Measure performance against key business objectives
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of new sources and supplier capabilities
- Lead and participate in supplier business reviews
- Proactively develop, recommend and implement business cases and solutions
- Develop, implement, and alignment of fleet or regional sourcing strategies and fleet or regional supplier capabilities for assigned commodities and spend categories to achieve broad business objectives
- Build RFI/RFP/RFQ and evaluation criteria
- Maintain and provide a current understanding of industry best practices and technology trends to team members and business partners
- Measure and manage the overall performance of the fleet supply base within the field of expertise
- Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier activities and efficiencies and work collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation
- Collaborate with senior functional leaders to establish short-term and long-term business objectives
- Develop project charters, project plans, deliverables, metrics and milestones. Implement sourcing process disciplines and management systems necessary to achieve desired results
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and establish sources for new technologies and in new markets as business requirements dictate
- Develop and negotiate complex agreements with suppliers encompassing key program specifications and functional objectives
- Develop both internal and external partnerships critical to meeting objectives
- Develop annual cost savings programs. Implements business strategies that directly effect company financial results and growth plans
- Advises on fleet supply base capabilities, commodity/spend category trends and industry best practices
- Conduct market research and analysis using qualitative and quantitative skills that will result in recommendation to supply chain leadership
- Collect, collate, analyze, and distribute marketplace research data in a timely fashion to enable APR NRG to gain and sustain a competitive edge in the industry
- Travel required based on business needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
- Minimum of 7 + years professional experience in procurement or supply chain strategy and management in the Energy, or Oil and Gas sectors
Preferred Education and proficiencies:
- High degree of financial and problem solving ability, Skilled with e-procurement processes and systems, Good business/financial acumen, Knowledge of contract law, Expertise with multiple commodities and spend categories, Understanding of Sourcing Processes and Project Management methodologies, proactive, self starting and results-oriented mindset , Ability to build teams and perform in team environment, Knowledgeable regarding processes, policies and procedures governing supply chain planning, sourcing, releasing, receiving, and settling & Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
