Position Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Solutions Specialist – Power Platform to join our Data Operations team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, along with strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of data integration, data warehousing, and automation concepts. This role involves administering and developing solutions across the Power Platform to support business processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and drive operational efficiency. Experience with Databricks and big data technologies is considered a strong asset.
Job Responsiblities:
Power Platform Support & Administration:
- Design, develop, and maintain custom business applications using Power Apps.
- Automate workflows and business processes using Power Automate.
- Administer and optimize Power Platform environments, including Power BI workspaces, Power Apps environments, and flow management.
- Monitor environment capacity in terms of usage and licensing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues while looking for ways to proactively reduce errors.
Data Warehouse Support:
- Understand the structure and flow of data within the enterprise data warehouse.
- Add and maintain data warehouse dimensions, attributes, and measures as required.
- Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data structures and queries.
Reporting & Visualization:
- Build and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to meet business needs.
- Ensure data models are optimized for performance and usability.
- Manage and Administer the PowerBI environment, including access provisioning, gateway updates, performance reviews and workspace management.
- Manage report lifecycle, including versioning, access control, and user support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues while looking for ways to proactively reduce errors.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with business units to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide training and support to end-users on Power Platform tools and best practices.
Technical & Tools Expertise:
- Write efficient SQL queries to extract and manipulate data.
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to support data-driven initiatives.
- Stay current with Microsoft Power Platform updates and emerging features.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience working with Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data manipulation.
- Solid understanding of data integration, automation, and reporting concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Databricks or similar big data platforms.
- Exposure to ETL tools and data integration processes.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles.
- Microsoft certifications in Power Platform or Power BI.
- Familiarity with Azure services and Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
Compensation and Benefits Package:
Seaspan’s total compensation is based on our pay-for-performance philosophy that rewards team members who deliver on and demonstrate our high-performance culture. The hiring range for this position is $87,000 - $104,000 CAD per annum. The exact base salary offered will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, job-related skills and knowledge, and internal pay equity.
