Position Description:
Reporting to the Team Lead, Data and Analytics, the ETL Developer is responsible for the design, development, and administration/support of existing and new Extract Load Transform/Extract Transform Load (ELT/ETL) integrations while following business, architectural, and service requirements. This position will have a strong understanding of Data Warehouse and Database related concepts with the ability to read and write complex SQL queries as required
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and develop ETL integrations using Talend or via programming languages (Java, T-SQL, and Python) as required.
- Develop and troubleshoot batch scripts on Windows
- Maintain and troubleshoot APIs
- Monitor and support existing data pipelines to ensure data loads are functioning without errors.
- Investigate data to identify potential issues within ETL pipelines and provide solutions.
- Ensure that the data architecture is scalable and maintainable.
- Understand the structure and design of our Data Warehouse and design integrations to match.
- Provide support as needed for database related issues, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Proactively look for opportunities to enhance existing processes by conforming them to the enterprise architecture.
- Prepare documentation related to data integrations and pipelines, including database jobs used for ETL.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in an IT environment in an enterprise-level ETL Developer role.
- College Diploma in Computer Science or IT and/or equivalent experience.
- Excellent knowledge of at least one enterprise ETL tool (IBM Data Stage Informatica, Talend, etc.). Knowledge of Talend is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of SQL knowledge (script writing, query performance tuning, index maintenance, basic DB administration etc.) as well as an understanding of database structure.
- Proven writing skills with the ability to organize and present information in various forms such as textual, graphical, and statistical.
- Data Lake knowledge is a plus
