HR Analyst

Position description:

The HR Analyst will be integral in the oversight and guidance of the data and analytical work to deliver Atlas and Seaspan’s key HR initiatives and to continuously improve how we achieve outstanding results and support the business. The role will partner with the HR team to support and provide analyses to effectively implement and maintain corporate HR programs and initiatives. Additionally, this role will support the Sr Manager, HR Systems and Total Rewards in evolving the HR Systems, Data and Analytics needs of the Company as well as work to automate internal HR processes.

 

The HR Analyst will report directly to the Sr Manager, HR Systems and Total Rewards.

  • Provide a broad range of quantitative and qualitative reporting and analysis in the development and support of HR programs and initiatives, including processes and procedures for compensation, benefits, workforce planning, talent & performance management
  • Conduct regular, ongoing analysis, evaluation / assessment and review of HR programs, policies, processes and initiatives
  • Accountable for HR data governance, management, and data integrity

Compensation:

  • Maintain and support global compensation programs, policies, processes and tools with a view towards creating operational efficiencies and improvements
  • Support Seaspan’s annual focal review process, which includes the planning, administration and communication of the Company’s annual bonus and salary review and performance management programs; liaise with Finance to ensure alignment to budgets and key financial metrics
  • Conduct compensation market benchmarking analysis; maintain existing salary ranges and ensure current rates are competitive and support recruitment and retention and reward high-performing associates
  • Collaborate with HR and senior leaders on structure, role changes and related job analysis
  • Provide information to managers and Human Resources colleagues and associates on pay decisions, policies and guidelines

  • Support annual benefits renewal process including the evaluation of brokers, insurance providers, plan changes, costing strategy and communication

 

Performance, Talent and Workforce Planning

  • Generate reports and metrics to monitor and support performance and talent management KPIs
  • Compile data conduct analyses and update presentations in support of employee initiatives (diversity, employee engagement)

 

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Extract, integrate and analyze data from HR systems to provide trends and insights to support business decisions
  • Responsible for data management, updates and audits to ensure data integrity of our HRIS tools including time-sensitive, seamless upkeep and maintenance of data and integration touch points with other systems and processes
  • Develop and maintain periodic standard and custom reports and provide internal clients with ad-hoc data for use in statistical analysis, strategic planning, internal/external surveys and presentations and reports
  • Respond to HR related audit requests from external and internal auditors

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements:

  • A post-secondary diploma / degree in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience and data analysis in HR, including compensation, payroll and benefits, job evaluation, and administration and quantitative modeling
  • Well-developed logical, analytical, problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, synthesize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of HR concepts, practices and processes
  • High degree of computer literacy with advance Excel skills
  • Solid writing, communication and presentation skills

 

 

Additional desired qualifications:

  • Self-starter with solutions-oriented approach and the ability to anticipate questions, resolve issues and problems
  • Strong time management skill and able to manage multiple projects and work with little supervision
  • Politically and culturally sensitive, with a high degree of conscientiousness and proven ability to manage sensitive or confidential information
  • Experience with one of the Tier 1 HCM solutions (ideally SuccessFactors) is a plus
