IT Intern - Business Analyst

Position Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst Intern to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze business processes, gather and document requirements, and contribute to quality assurance (QA) efforts and gap analysis to ensure successful implementation of business solutions.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Conduct gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current processes, systems, or capabilities and desired outcomes.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining documentation, including process maps, functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Support quality assurance (QA) efforts by creating test plans, executing test cases, and validating results to ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis on identified issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update the corporate data dictionary and business glossary.
  • Support facilitation of meetings and workshops, including documentation of decisions and action items.

 

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to perform gap analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of SQL and data analysis is preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance (QA) practices, including test planning and execution.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficient working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

 

Compensation and Benefits package

Seaspan’s total compensation is based on our pay-for-performance philosophy that rewards team members who deliver on and demonstrate our high-performance culture. The hiring range for this position is $21 - $23 CAD per hour. The exact base salary offered will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, job-related skills and knowledge, and internal pay equity.
