IT Intern - Project Management

Position Description

This position reports directly to the Manager, Project Delivery, Seaspan Business Analysts and contract Project Managers and assists with various IT project management tasks related to planning, executing, and closing a project. The position will work with Seaspan business team members and vendors in the performance of their duties. They learn from the project manager and other team members and gain valuable skills and experience in project management.

This role will apply communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure client satisfaction with operational and project related issues.

This intern position will be involved in on-going projects driving innovation and change within Seaspan.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager and Senior Business Analyst with defining the project scope, objectives, and deliverables
  • Create and update project documents, such as schedules, budgets, risk registers, and status reports
  • Communicate with project stakeholders, such as sponsors, customers, and vendors
  • Coordinate and attend project meetings, and summarize notes and action items
  • Perform research and analysis on project-related topics, such as market trends, best practices, and customer feedback
  • Attend project meetings, monitor and report on project progress and performance, documenting progress, risks and task
  • Follow up on project tasks assignment and ensure tasks are completed satisfactorily
  • Contribute to project evaluation and lessons learned
  • Performs other duties as required.

Additional Desired Qualifications

•    Education in computer science or a relevant discipline. 

 

Compensation and Benefits package
Seaspan’s total compensation is based on our pay-for-performance philosophy that rewards team members who deliver on and demonstrate our high-performance culture. The hiring range for this position is $21 - $23 CAD per hour. The exact base salary offered will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, job-related skills and knowledge, and internal pay equity.
