Position Description:

Atlas is seeking a highly motivated and driven Intern to support the Corporate Development & Capital Markets team. You will provide support on various projects spanning debt financing, mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, financial planning & analysis, and other projects as needed. This includes collecting and analyzing financing structures, capital markets activity, industry, peer, and customer research, monitoring economic trends, preparing documents and presentations for issuances, events and/or meetings. This is a rare opportunity to obtain invaluable exposure across the spectrum of corporate finance activities.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Perform analysis on various international capital markets to determine feasibility and structure of new financing and investment options
  • Assist with conducting research and building financial models to support financing opportunities
  • Support due diligence and execution of financing initiatives
  • Performs financial analysis and supports creation of materials for capital markets/financing, investor relations, and other ad-hoc initiatives
  • Conducts research and collects information on customers, peers, and other counterparties using public information to assist in developing financial market forecast models and support decision making
  • Assists team members in preparing presentations to the board of directors, senior management, investors and lenders
  • Ad hoc support on M&A initiatives including transaction analysis and acquisition financing
  • Scope of role/tasks is dependent upon performance and skill level
  • Participate in the Company's intern working group project, collaborating with team members from diverse departments at Seaspan

 

Requirements:

  • 2nd or 3rd year university student in Commerce, Economics, Mathematics or Statistics with a strong interest in international business
  • A genuine interest in finance
  • Self-starter willing to get involved in multiple projects
  • Well experienced with Excel and Powerpoint
  • Attention to detail
  • Scope of role/tasks is dependent upon performance and skill level

 

Compensation and Benefits package: 

Seaspan’s total compensation is based on our pay-for-performance philosophy that rewards team members who deliver on and demonstrate our high-performance culture. The hiring range for this position is $21 - $23 CAD per hour. The exact base salary offered will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, job-related skills and knowledge, and internal pay equity.
