Position Description: 

The Manager, Business Transformation, is responsible for leading strategic change initiatives within Seaspan Corporation. Reporting to the Head of Business Transformation, this position manages the implementation of transformation strategies in Fleet Operations to improve safety, reliability, and cost efficiency. The Manager, Business Transformation works with various departments to support operational effectiveness and the achievement of corporate goals and long-term plans. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business transformation strategies to drive organizational change and innovation.  
  • Manage and mentor transformation analysts and specialists, providing direction, performance feedback, and development opportunities to support transformation goals.
  • Conduct business process analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement process excellence initiatives.
  • Create and implement change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of transformation initiatives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across various departments to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Identify and manage digital transformation initiatives to enhance company performance and uncover new value streams.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new business processes and systems, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks associated with business transformation initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams during the transformation process, including identifying training needs and organizing training interventions.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with a specialization in Technology, Business or Shipping.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in process improvement, project management, or related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) and change management.
  • Must have valid travel documents as international travel may be required.

 

Additional/Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in the maritime industry or a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience in RPA and / or AI project.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement within an organization.
  • Experience in driving cultural transformation and fostering a culture of agility and learning.
  • Basic knowledge of internal controls / SOX guidance.
  • General knowledge of finance and accounting principles.

 

Job Demands and/or Physical Requirements:

  • International travel is required and may be on short notice.

 

Compensation and Benefits package: 

Seaspan’s total compensation is based on our pay-for-performance philosophy that rewards team members who deliver on and demonstrate our high-performance culture. The hiring range for this position is $110,000 - $137,000 CAD per annum. The exact base salary offered will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, job-related skills and knowledge, and internal pay equity.
