Postion Description:

Reporting to the Director, HRBP the Manager, HRBP will be responsible for providing support and guidance to senior leaders and their global teams, on all matters related to their teams and people. This includes a broad range of HR practices such as talent management, employee relations, employee training & development, talent acquisition, HR program design and implementation and workforce planning. The Manager, HRBP will need to act as a trusted advisor, delivering practical solutions aligned with the business’ priorities.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Manager, HRBP delivers Human Resources support that effectively communicates and supports the organization’s mission, vision and values.
  • Partners with the HR centers of expertise to provide a fully integrated and best-in class HR service.
  • Develops effective communications and relationships with the assigned client group, broader leadership team and employee base.
  • Drives effective HR service through a deep understanding of business goals and people management strategies, while maintaining necessary regulatory compliance.
  • Working with the leadership teams, accountable to ensure all performance managers adhere to the performance framework and creating individual development plans.
  • Partners with client group leaders to develop workforce plans for short and long term workforce needs.
  • Provides hands-on, practical HR solutions to leaders and teams within the assigned business unit.
  • Seeks to continuously improve processes and programs, including employee relations, talent management programs, HR administration and leveraging HR data for performance.
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of HR programs within assigned client group, include talent management and succession programs.
  • Is a champion for a culture of change and continuous improvement.
  • Promotes and delivers a talent experience that integrates diversity and inclusion programs.
  • Contributes to leadership development programs, managing select assigned programs.
  • Supports select talent acquisition initiatives to deliver best-in class talent, focused on quality candidates and in support of critical metrics.
  • Reviews and support process within the HR team, including codifying new processes and continually seeking efficiencies.
  • Communicates expectations to direct reports, manages performance, and provides leadership and support to team members.
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years in a progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Proven track record as an HR Business Partner, with experience working with operational business leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business or related field is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and good writing style.
  • CPHR designation is an asset.

 

Job Demands and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Availability via a mobile device outside of office hour.

 

Compensation and Benefits package: 

Seaspan’s total compensation is based on our pay-for-performance philosophy that rewards team members who deliver on and demonstrate our high-performance culture. The hiring range for this position is $110,000 - $133,000 CAD per annum. The exact base salary offered will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, job-related skills and knowledge, and internal pay equity. In addition to base salary, we offer a competitive total rewards package which includes an annual performance-based bonus, a comprehensive benefits package (extended health, dental, life and disability insurance), retirement savings plan matching and other company-provided rewards.
