Position Description:
The Application Analyst (Finance Systems) is responsible for supporting the company’s core financial systems, including NetSuite, Oracle EPM FCCS/PBCS, GTreasury, and Certify. This role ensures these applications are effectively managed, configured, and maintained to support key financial and accounting processes. The analyst will also work on system analysis, project management, and continuous improvement, collaborating closely with IT and finance teams to ensure systems align with business needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide application support and systems analysis for financial applications, ensuring they align with the business processes related to accounting, financial consolidation, budgeting, treasury management, and expense tracking.
- Apply a strong understanding of systems development life cycle theory to manage the setup, configurations, and updates of financial systems, while ensuring continuous quality improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, IT, and other teams) to identify, resolve, and implement system enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Utilize project management skills to assist with system upgrades, implementations, and enhancements, ensuring projects are completed on time and meet business requirements.
- Analyze and resolve system issues, maintaining high-quality standards and attention to detail while ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and internal policies.
- Actively manage application-related issues through the IT ticketing system, troubleshooting and escalating issues as required to minimize disruptions.
- Ensure data integrity by managing data integration processes between financial applications, ensuring accurate data flow across systems.
- Provide training and support to finance users, helping them to use the systems effectively, ensuring documentation is maintained for system processes.
- Plan and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently to ensure optimal operation of financial systems while handling regular maintenance and updates.
- Employ critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make sound decisions and recommendations for system improvements or issue resolution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting financial applications, with expertise in at least one of the following: NetSuite, GTreasury, or Oracle EPM (FCCS/PBCS). Experience with more than one of these systems is a strong advantage.
- Solid knowledge of systems analysis, systems development life cycle theory, and project management techniques.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while being able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and multi-task effectively, while paying close attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions.
- Knowledge of financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and experience with data integration between financial systems.
Job Demands and/or Physical Requirements:
- Availability for occasional after-hours support.
- Ability to travel internationally if required.
- Sufficient mobility to perform basic IT setup tasks.
