Position Description:
The Internal Auditor, Global Risks & Controls, evaluates the design and operating effectiveness of controls using a risk-driven approach across internal audits, SOX control assessments, and risk advisory activities. The role also involves conducting walkthroughs, performing detailed reviews, and assessing control deficiencies and risk events reported through the GRC platform.
The role offers exposure to a wide range of Seaspan’s global operations and core business processes, technology and cybersecurity controls, and transformation initiatives, as well as ERM and GRC program operationalization, with opportunities to develop and elevate your career in risk management and internal audit within a high-performing, dynamic, and experienced team spanning India and North America.
Job Responsibilities:

Evaluate controls assigned as part of internal audits, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) control assessments, and risk advisory activities across Seaspan’s global operations and core business processes (e.g., Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, etc.), technology and cybersecurity processes, and transformation initiatives, to determine whether they are functioning effectively and consistently as designed.

Conduct walkthroughs and document processes to assess whether they effectively mitigate relevant risks and support the achievement of business objectives, and align with the organization’s 5S Principles: Simplify, Standardize, Scalable, Save Costs, and Safety.

Perform other detailed reviews, such as data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and risk indicators to assess risk management and control effectiveness, inform recommended next steps, and enable continuous risk or control monitoring.

Assess control deficiencies and risk events identified and reported through the Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) platform by evaluating relevant evidence, compensating controls, and risk exposures, and formulating risk-informed recommendations.

Support end‑to‑end risk management and control assessment lifecycle activities, including: identifying, documenting and reporting control deficiencies and improvement opportunities, supported by clear and actionable recommendations, and monitoring and validating the implementation of agreed-upon management action plans.

Collaborate with and support other members of the Risk & Audit Services function, as well as complete other assigned tasks, in delivery of its mandates.
- Build a deeper understanding of and apply risk‑driven governance, controls, and internal audit practices through hands‑on experience, including exposure to the establishment and operationalization of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and GRC programs across the organization.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline, coupled with a professional accounting (e.g., CA) or auditing (e.g., CIA) designation.

Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in internal audit, risk consulting, or related roles, with at least 1 of those years being risk-based internal audit experience.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good business acumen, with ability to understand and analyze business operations.
