Position Description:
The Team Lead – Financial & Corporate Systems primarily focuses on finance-related systems support while also overseeing corporate applications across departments. The Team Lead acts as the primary IT liaison for Finance teams, ensuring effective collaboration between IT and business stakeholders to support key business processes. Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day global team operations, prioritizing tasks, ensuring SLA adherence, coordinating system changes and enhancements, and maintaining accurate documentation. The Team Lead also contributes to system analysis, project coordination, and continuous improvement, ensuring application support aligns with business processes and operational needs. This role requires cross-functional engagement with other IT groups, such as Data Integration, Business Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Fleet Applications Support, to support end-to-end business operations.
Job Responsibilities:

Leads a team of analysts supporting corporate applications, with a focus on finance-related systems, ensuring task execution, service quality, and team performance.

Oversees the intake, triage, and escalation of support requests, ensuring SLA adherence and coordination with vendors or internal teams when required.

Mentors team members on issue resolution, system design, and change impact, while promoting cross-training and professional development.

Facilitates regular meetings with Finance stakeholders to understand evolving needs, gather feedback, and ensure alignment between IT and Finance.

Provides stakeholders with timely updates on system changes, enhancements, and support activities impacting applications.

Ensures initiatives and projects are aligned with business goals and delivered on time and within scope.

Promotes best practices and process improvements within the Finance department to enhance system utilization and operational efficiency.

Provides advanced application support and systems analysis, resolving complex issues and ensuring applications align with core business processes in finance, accounting, and related functions.

Guides the planning and implementation of system changes, configurations, and enhancements in line with application management practices and internal control requirements.

Collaborates with business stakeholders and IT teams to assess functional requirements, evaluate enhancement requests, and deliver improvements that support operational efficiency.

Coordinates upgrades, patching, testing, and release validation to ensure minimal disruption and accurate documentation.

Supports data integrity and integration activities by coordinating with technical teams and monitoring related issues.

Drives process improvement initiatives by analyzing trends, identifying opportunities, and promoting best practices across the team.

Oversees the maintenance of documentation and training materials to support user adoption and internal knowledge retention.

Contributes to IT project planning, ensuring resource alignment and readiness for transition to operational support.

Coordinates with global team members to ensure consistent support coverage and a seamless user experience across time zones.

Coordinating or implementing IT solutions such as SharePoint and automations for stakeholder departments.
Requirements:

Degree or diploma in IT, Management Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Minimum of five years’ experience in an IT role, with hands-on support for finance-related or corporate applications.

Minimum two years’ experience leading direct reports or managing a support team.

Proven experience implementing and supporting financial system integrations.

Strong knowledge of accounting and finance processes, with the ability to support budgeting, reporting, and compliance needs.

Familiarity with internal controls, audit processes, and financial compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, GAAP, IFRS).

Strong knowledge of systems analysis, application lifecycle management, and IT service delivery practices.

Proven ability to manage priorities, resolve complex issues, and coordinate across departments and time zones.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and sound decision-making in a dynamic support environment.
Job Demands and/or Physical Requirements:

Availability for occasional after-hours management and support.

Ability to travel internationally if required.

Sufficient mobility to perform basic IT setup tasks.
Compensation and Benefits Package:
Seaspan’s total compensation is based on our pay-for-performance philosophy that rewards team members who deliver on and demonstrate our high-performance culture. The hiring range for this position is $96,000 - $119,000 CAD per annum. The exact base salary offered will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, job-related skills and knowledge, and internal pay equity. In addition to base salary, we offer a competitive total rewards package which includes an annual performance-based bonus, a comprehensive benefits package (extended health, dental, life and disability insurance), retirement savings plan matching and other company-provided rewards.
