The Treasury Administrator is responsible for maintaining data & documentation necessary to drive daily operations for Seaspan Corp. and its subsidiaries as well as ensuring adequate liquidity is sufficient for daily operational cash flows. The Treasury Administrator will be the key point of contact for the Company’s global banking platforms and a specialist in managing the various banking connections. This role is responsible for “Know Your Client” (KYC) documentation related to banking regulations and requirements in the various countries where the organization operates and includes requirements for the management of bank accounts and related processes and remaining compliant with changing bank requirements. The Treasury Administrator is the primary administrator for the Treasury Management System (TMS) as well as the Corporate Credit Card program for Seaspan and its subsidiaries.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Updates and maintains accuracy of all bank documentation with global banking partners including resolutions and certificates of incumbency
  • Maintain Master Bank Account list, ensuring list is kept current, including signatories, administrators, and banking functionalities for all bank accounts globally
  • Prepare documentation for all bank account openings and closings
  • Prepare KYC documentation as required for opening new accounts as well as for meeting banking requirements for existing accounts
  • Execute daily Treasury operations, ensuring timely and accurate transaction processing in line with organizational policies
  • Investigate and troubleshoot payment related discrepancies in collaboration with other teams and work towards resolving them
  • Main point of contact and primary administrator for all global banking platforms responsible for tracking and maintaining all bank account information through the Treasury Management System (TMS)
  • Monitoring and managing bank accounts and funding across Seaspan and its subsidiaries
  • Ensure Treasury Administration tasks are managed through the internal Bank Administration portal and the portal is kept current
  • Files daily automated reports to correct locations for the liquidity reporting to refresh
  • Assures accounts are set up on the company's TMS accurately and efficiently
  • Inputs data into the TMS to report accurate balances and transactions
  • Maintains data integrity in TMS and creates logic to code bank transactions properly for the Financial Reporting team
  • Research failed file imports and troubleshoots to resolve
  • Creates payment templates in TMS for upcoming activity
  • Assists with the documentation and management of Treasury processes & procedures
  • Primary Administrator for the Corporate credit card programs for Seaspan and subsidiaries
  • Participate in the year end Audit process by arranging bank confirmations, process reviews and other Administrative related request from external Auditors
  • Prepare and set up periodic cash sweeps
  • Participates in cross-functional initiatives as the Treasury representative
  • Assists in maintaining relations with banks and other financial institutions

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution
  • Prior experience in a corporate treasury role
  • Experience working with a TMS or ERP system
  • Must be highly analytical with sound business judgment, proven documentation skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable dealing with multiple internal and external parties, in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working with competing priorities
  • Good understanding of Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, and a professional writing style
  • Team player - able to collaborate and communicate with stakeholder departments

 

Additional Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, and autonomously with a high level of responsibility is considered an asset
  • Ability to pick up new systems/software quickly considered an asset

 

Compensation and Benefits Package:

 

Seaspan’s total compensation is based on our pay-for-performance philosophy that rewards team members who deliver on and demonstrate our high-performance culture. The compensation range for this position is $51,000 to $63,500 CAD per annum. The exact base salary offered will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, job-related skills and knowledge, and internal pay equity.
