Position description:

The FP&A team is responsible for creating value and influencing behavior across the business through strategic and financial planning, forecasting, and creative analysis to derive insights. A successful Manager is passionate about financial modeling, delving into data to find value, and building relationships to ensure alignment. The Manager of our new FP&A Analysis sub-group will work in partnership with the Manager of FP&A Business Partnership . As the first Manager of our new Analysis sub-group, this role will initially have one Analyst (to-be hired subsequently), and room for growth as value-add opportunities justify.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage creation of two new purpose-built financial models for i) budgeting and ii) strategic planning;
  • Become a power user of the business’s newly implemented Oracle EPM platform
  • Implement the new financial models into Oracle EPM platform
  • Develop, maintain, audit and update financial models and analytics to support the organization’s financial decision-making
  • Manage the development and maintenance of documentation for forecasting and other processes to ensure transparency and accuracy
  • Explore opportunities to simplify and enhance current processes and deliverables
  • Enhance, develop, and prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts in normal course, and on an ad-hoc basis to explore value-add opportunities identified
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with the FP&A team as well as other stakeholders
  • Build and manage an effective team
  • Develop long-term strategic forecasting including scenario analysis
  • Monitor and report on KPI performance, trends, and variances
  • Manage the development of new reporting tools and systems
  • Maintain and develop processes and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve the efficiency and usability of financial reporting
  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of ad-hoc analysis and reports
  • Identify and advise on potential risks and opportunities

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis or field providing similar skillset
  • Advanced knowledge of financial modeling and analysis including budgeting process
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to derive meaning from financial data and communicate results
  • Positive mindset, energetic and strong desire to learn
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships and a team-first mentality
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to affect and implement change

 

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience using a planning & budgeting application, ideally Oracle EPM
  • Experience using BI applications, particularly Power BI, and coding/programming skills
  • Certifications related to financial modeling
